Well -- I have a ati-radeon mobility 9000

here's an excerpt from my xorg.conf
Code:
        Identifier  "Card0"
        Driver      "radeon"
        VendorName  "ATI Technologies Inc"
        BoardName   "RadeonMobility9000"
        BusID       "PCI:1:5:0"

Ati doesn't give out many drivers, you will probably use the same one... But I'm not positive....

Have you set up your monitor brand and model in "Mepis OS Center"? If not, do so, THEN restart your session, go to "KDE Control Center" and adjust frequency, ATI settings, etc.

i tried installing the ati proprietary linux drivers but i got the following error while installing :

dpkg -i '//root/fglrx-4-3-0_8.12.10-2_i386.deb' ;echo RESULT=$?
(Reading database ... 75486 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking fglrx-4-3-0 (from .../fglrx-4-3-0_8.12.10-2_i386.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing //root/fglrx-4-3-0_8.12.10-2_i386.deb (--install):
trying to overwrite `/usr/X11R6/bin/fgl_glxgears', which is also in package fglrx-driver
dpkg-deb: subprocess paste killed by signal (Broken pipe)
Errors were encountered while processing:
//root/fglrx-4-3-0_8.12.10-2_i386.deb
RESULT=1

please help
