menuconifg error while update kernel

after getting into this point:

make menuconfig i get this error:

Your display is too small to run Menuconfig!
It must be at least 19 lines by 80 columns.
make[1]: *** [menuconfig] Error 1
make: *** [menuconfig] Error 2

Where do you run it from? If from X Window (xterm or simialr program) just make the terminal window bigger and try again.
