memory usage very high


hi guys

my suse 10 Sp3 is consuming too much memory but I don't which process/processes are.
this is top by memory usage

There is no problem. You are misunderstanding the statistics.

The simplistic view expressed in that page, especially the claim that the ram reported as buffers and cache is effectively free, is not correct for all Linux systems. But it is correct for your system.

When cache is a small fraction of total ram, it is probable that a significant amount of soft faulting is occurring, so the ram represented by cache is not effectively free.

But when cache is a large fraction of total ram, significant soft faulting is unlikely, so the cache memory is effectively free memory.
