media players are not running on fedora 9
 

Hi all,

I've been using fedora for months but installed fedora 9 version which i think is not better than its 8th version!!!!!

What i wanna ask is that I've installed xine player(tar.bz2) & i follow all the steps of installing it & It does nice job configuring & making all the lib files
But the problem is I am not getting it as a option while playing videos.
I can't see it in applications-->sounds-->videos.
Could u please suggest how to run it ????

I've another problem pertaining the same that when i cannot run xine i installed vlc player(rpm) & it works quite good while installing & even I get a option of vlc in sounds & videos section
But the problem is that it is not able to play mp3, videos,etc..
& when i click on it , it doesn't get open??

I believe u understand what my problem is ?
could u please provide solutions????
