Media Players
I saw from the search that Real Player is supported by linux, but i am wondering if there are any other or better media players for maybe ripping cd's or listening to them. I don't plan on downloading, just listening. I was never much of a fan of real player. Thanks

Try XMMS is the one I use all the time, it doesn't rip CD's, though. It comes with pretty much all distro's but on Redhat it doesn't play MP3's, but I think that's fixable.
If XMMS doesn't float your boat or you still wan't a CD ripper go here: http://linux-sound.org/

I dled the program and ran ./configure to find out that i was missing gstreamer, so i downloaded the most recent version and it still says its missing, so in the readme it says to do this:
Q: I have the required version of GStreamer installed but configure doesn't
find it!
Q: I have pkg-config problems.
A: Here's an extract from the PKG-CONFIG man page:
pkg-config retrieves information about packages from special metadata
files. These files are named after the package, with the extension
.pc. By default, pkg-config looks in the directory prefix/lib/pkgconfig
for these files; it will also look in the colon-separated list of
directories specified by the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable.
So, do export PKG_CONFIG_PATH="/path/to/gstreamer-0.x.y.pc" and reconfigure.
can someone please walk me through what that is telling me to do? I don't really understand.
