Why? Because maybe that is the best way - plus if the OP is newer to linux, he should understand what is going on in the background.... Knowing the system and performing on it are two completely different things. Performing the commands by hand is the best way to gain the needed experience in linux. I'm sorry if you disagree, but remember, this is linux, not windows where you are supposed to double click on everything. If you are offended by that, then I really do not know what to say.
