Hi Nabeel,
I have media.cfg and mirrorlist under /etc/urpmi/mediacfg.d/Official-2010.0-i586/ directory. Probably you have not added repos.
Open Mandriva control center, under 'Software Management', select 'Configure media sources for install and update'. Check if any media is selected. In my system, Mirrolist Main, Main updates, Contrib, Contrib updates, Non-free, Non-free updates are enabled. Enable them if not already enabled.

You mean, there was no entry at all so that you can select some? Did you try 'Add'?
P.S.: No 'Sir' thing please, we are all friends here.

Yes,and upon pressing add a dialog box pops up sying choose media types;with 2 buttons: update source only & fullset of sources.
And the directory" /etc/urpmi/mediacfg.d/ "is also empty
Strange. You are updating the thread from the same system? If yes, then there should not be any problem. No clue. Can you take the screenshot of 'Configure media' page and attach here?
