Mdk 9 - kernel location and lost sound

I have 2 problems - both of which I have discovered today:

1. I have no sound from Mdk - when I check harddrake, the sound card and the driver are detected, but no sound is coming out. The only change I have made is to install NVidia drivers.

2. I ran the KDE Linux Kernel Configurator and the following message came up: cannot open /usr/src/linux/arch//config.in for reading. When I check the directory /usr/src/linux it is empty. Is there an alternate (or even correct) path that I should type in to point the KConfigurator to the right place?

I am going to try a reboot, I will post if I get asnything new.

Thanks in advance.....

Quick update - I need a good slapping - after a reboot, the sound is back. If only I'd rebooted before posting.

Apologies for that part of it.
