Question MBR software or tools for backup/restore

Does anyone know of any good (user friendly, gui or txt based, small-med size) application that will backup and restore the MBR. It doesn't have to run on windoze or linux. It can be on either, I've had problems in the past with the MBR getting hammered or corrupted and I have found few applications that do the above mentioned. Free (open source) would be nice....really nice. Also maybe the option to back it up to floppy, CD, USB thumb drive, zip drive or other location on HDDs. Thanks...greatly appreciated.

Just use dd:
dd if=/dev/hda of=/path/to/saved/mbr.img blocks=512 count=1
