max host for nagios/zabbix


hi,

may i know the maximum hosts that nagios/zabbix could monitor at the same time?

Hi.

As far as I'm aware there isn't a maximum number of monitored hosts with Zabbix, just depends on what sort of spec your monitoring host is. Not sure about Nagios, though.

How many hosts are you thinking about monitoring?

Shouldn't be a problem. Might need some decent hardware if you're going to be monitoring a lot of items per-host, though.

as ilikejam mentioned, it pretty much depends on how many items per host you want to monitor and at what interval.
in general, that shouldn't be a problem, although for many new values per second you might have to plan a bit to keep zabbix performing well. zabbix forums should provide some insight on common performance problems and solutions.
