Try the Gparted livecd. Or course, make backups if you value your data. Tinkering with partitions is never without a risk.

I have no idea what do you mean by that. If you want to run windows programs in linux, then you should check "wine", it can run *some* windows programs, most times with some quirks. However, as a general rule, assume that Windows programs will NOT run on Linux, just like PS games won't work on an Xbox.

If you meant anything else, explain yourself.

Check the documentation for your distribution, which is the first thing you should do when you don't know how something works.

It just took me a google with "ubuntu documentation", and I am not an Ubuntu user. Also, I know that it can be a bit deceiving at first. When we, humans, learn something, then we tend to think that everything should work like we think it should work, but one thing is what you think, and another thing is reality. You should never assume that Linux and Windows works the same way, you will only get deception from that. So, stop assuming that Linux works like Windows, they are not related. If you want something that works like Windows, then use Windows.

If they wanted the posts to be bold, they would use that as the default typeface. Bolds should be used to emphatize a certain portion of a post, a word, a sentence, or something that deserves special attention.

Some people use bolds to highlight the names of other members when speaking to them, so they can see that easily.

By using bolds for the whole post, first: you make it harder to read; second: you can't use bolds to highlight anything and third: you annoy some people which will make you get lesser responses and empty ones at that, like the one above.

It's like music, you can't be playing forte all the time, you are supposed combine moderate intensity with accents and some parts will have a faster tempo and a stronger intensity. That's what makes it so expressive. Having the highest intensity during all the piece usually only gives you headache.

You don't have to use the command-line to install programs. Go to the menu and use the "Add/Remove".
If you're trying to use the cube, you also have to make sure you have 4 workspaces.

is there and easier way to resize my memory from my windows XP??? is because i dont have internet in my linuz because i use broadband and linux doesnt read it!

I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 right now, and I have a cable modem. Broadband will work, it just might need some configuring done. Someone else might be able to help, if you need it.
If you want the cube effect and you want to tinker with the other compiz effects, when you use the "Add/Remove" for adding and removing programs, install the one that says "Advanced Desktop Effect Settings (ccsm) Configure Compiz with CompizConfig" and it will make it quicker and easier.

No, unless you bought partition magic or a similar software, and even then, I am not sure at all that partition magic can read linux partitions at all. So, gparted is your best bet, as I told you above.

You really need to learn some netiquette, bumping your thread each 20 minutes is never going to get your problem solved faster, and, in fact, it will make people angry at you.

Water under the bridge now, but the fact is that--on average--installing SW is easier in Linux than in Windows. Once you get used to using a good package manager, you will see.

1.] Linux will not "read' windows programs nor vice-versa.
Windows isn't Linux nor is Linux windows.
2.] Nothing says gparted cannot be downloaded and burned from the Windows side of your pc
3.] Ubuntu and any other Linux distribution will utilize broadband just fine unless there is something wrong with your set up.
4.] There is no download something from anywhere you please, click-it to install it feature in any Linux distribution that I am aware of for many reasons, primarily security.
Installing wine to your Linux distribution however will allow you to install some Windows applications to wine itself as well as a program called Cedega which, according to their writings allude to them having more features than wine.
5.] If someone here cannot help you with compiz-fusion, they have a website themselves and can help you.
6.] Linux is not windows, never has been, never was intended to be and never will be, therefore don't expect things to work like they do in windows.
7.] Linux has a learning curve just as high as windows does.
You can expect to learn to do things according to the distributions ways that you are running such as learning to read their wiki if they have one, learning to google properly, learning to ask questions in forums properly, learning to exercise patience in receiving a response in a forum and learning if there is no response it's because someone hasn't read your post that knows the answer.
8.] No one here is paid to answer questions at this forum, we do it because we want to if and when we have the time.
It' pretty much that way at all linux forums,,,, and this is one of the friendliest ones I've used in 5+ years of running Linux.

You download gparted, burn it to a cd as a cd image, and boot it by putting the cd into the tray of your cdrom drive. You might need to setup your BIOS to boot from cdrom instead of your hard disk.

Once gparted cd has booted you can use gparted to re-partition your hard disk, resize partitions or whatever you want to do.

but i have one last question is about my broadband
i use cricket broadband and in XP you can used because you have a program to connect it and all that but in linux no but i went to network the part where it says broadband and i put all the information but nothing happen... can some one help me that is the last one and one of the most important.
