Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Distribution: Mandrake 10.0 & Window XP professional
manrake setup problem
i was installing mandrake 10.0 community edition (in graphical mode) and every thing was going okay, the partioning and stuff all went well untill i got to the screen asking me to configure the various options like, vga card, sound card, lan card etc. i configured the sound and vga and monitor properly : (lots of pats on the back) but when i tried to configure the lan card, some thing went bad...... bad as in a console window opened and indicating a couple of failures adn the system restarted....
NOw the grub (which i had installed is not able to load either XP or mandrake.... which i guess is due to the fact that the setup was not finished yet)
what i want to know is that , do i need to reinstall all the stuff prior to this point , or is there some way of resuming from wheret the system had restarted... i took a long time to reach that point........
if any has any suggestions ....plz replly...
thankx in advance
soory, should have posted this in the mandrake forum... but now i dont want to repeat the post there...... soory
