Mandriva Installation

Hey everyone!

I was just wondering, before I install Mandriva, if everything I think I am about to do will work.

First I am going to get a computer without Mandriva or Windows on it, and set up the BIOS. Then, I am going to make it boot from the CD drive, and insert a CD with the Mandriva ISO file on it. I think it should install from there with my guidance...I will not have a Windows OS on it before, so I hope it works!

Install Windows first. Unfortunately Windows doesn't work well with other OSes - it overwrites the Linux boot loader for example and it cannot resize partitions without destroying them (its a very stupid OS

). So its better to install Windows first then install Linux, like most Linuxes the Mandriva install is smart enough to safely resize the Windows partition and properly setup the boot loader so you can boot both OSes.

Yeah sorry read your post wrong - I thought you were going to install both Windows and Linux on it. Sounds fine.
