mandriva 2010 spring cant login!!
 

OK I did a full install of Mandriva 2010 spring from USB, everything boots up just fine, when I get to the login screen I click login, and it goes blank and takes me right back to the login screen. I'm very new to Linux, can anyone help me please??

Did you set it up with a username and password?

What desktop you are using?

No it never asked me during the install to set a user/password up, and I am using the gnome desktop.

If username and password are not set during the install phase, you are usually asked to supply one upon reboot. As this is a fresh install, I would say start again (you have no data to lose) and pay close attention to the install.

Is there a network cable connected to the pc with live internet connection?
I think you must try to remove or unplug network connection.
Maybe your system is updating or searching some update repositories, i have encountered a problem like that when i first install mandriva in my computer.
