Mandriva 2006 Programs stop working, or starting when i click them

Hi there,

Im very new to linux with very little experience, i just figured out how to install programs using a command line. Ive searched the forums and cant find the answer to my problem or might have searched the wrong thing i dont know. Anyways here is my problem.

When i click on the icon for say "mozilla explorer" it shows a downsized tab that says "starting mozilla" and then goes away. It also happens with thunderbird(which worked a few times, but i installed this myself so i might have messed it up) I did not mess with Mozilla though it seems to always work until yesterday.

Im running Gnome desktop, Mandriva 2006..

Im not sure how to get bug reports or what not so i might need to do that, let me know.

Thanks in advance!

You most likely have missing or incompatible libraries. This could have happened because of the installations you did previously. What happened between yesterday (when the two programs were working) and today?

Try running mozilla or thunderbird from the command line. This will give you errors. I am not sure what name is given to the programs in Mandriva...different distro name is slightly differently but you can try anyone of the two below.

Code:

thunderbird
or
Code:

mozilla-thunderbird
