Mandrake Update error /proxy?

Just got Mandrake 9.0 running Gnome and am trying to update it with Mandrake Update. Network and samba settings are workin fine but since i'm under a firewall w/proxy I've had to add in proxy settings.

There seems to be a number of places to put proxy settings but i'm not sure which is for what. In the Mandrake start menu under configuration>Gnome>Network I've put proxy settings there...and also in the Mandrake control center under Network & Internet. I'm pretty sure I've entered the right address as it works when I put it in the Mozilla browser proxy settings...and when I had red hat it also updated fine w/this proxy address.

Originally when I went to Mandrake Update I couldn't even connect to get the mirrors list...then I realized there was yet another place in the software sources manager to put proxy settings. So at this point I'm able to see a list of mirror sites to update my system...but none of them work. I get the follow error message:

Error adding update medium:
There was an error while adding the update medium via urpmi.
This may be due to a broken or temporary unavailable mirror, or when your Mandrake Linux Version (9.0) is nor yet/no more supported by Mandrak Linux official updates...

I know the mirror site i'm trying works cause I just accessed it in windows...plus i'm registed at mandrake online if that makes a difference....

Anyone got any suggestions or know anything about this error message? Much appreciated,

Ryan

The only place you shoul need to put your proxy settings is in the Mandrake Control Center. I'm not sure where it ceomes in on the menu, but if you run drakconf you get it.

Oh, and Welcome to LQ. Sorry if I came over a bit harsh, but the LQ rules really aren't that long, and even when you're typing in your problem, it states (on the left) 'Please don't post this in more than one forum'. Glad to hear it won't happen again
