Mandrake Installation

I just installed Mandrake 10 Official (finally ), and am left w/ a couple questions Why didnt it ask for disc 4 (which was a pain to find)?

Also, i am on a laptop and sometimes use the built in touch pad instead of a mouse. I used to be able to click on things by tapping the pad, Mdk somehow turned that off. I looked under control panel in XP, and all i saw was the mouse i sometimes use. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Well as for the mouse issue I cant exactly say, but the cd I would say you didnt need any of the RPMS it had on it. If you didnt do a full install I am sure that most likely that cd is full of stuff you will never be required to have on most installs, but you could always pop it in and do an ls on it.

Some of the distributions have which RPMS are on which cds and you couldve seen if you needed any of those RPMS and if not never bothered downloading it but thats just my :two cents:

Let me make it short for you, are you a windows guy at all?

If so ls would be the dir of linux it stands for list

RPMS are like add remove windows components. They are packages that allow you to go back and include certain services that you wanted but forgot to include.

If you need any more help just let me know I am glad to help you out

Wow, thanks!

Im having a bit of trouble getting my wireless to work. I found a step-by-step, and am going to try that now. Its a linksys WPC54G, and whenever i try to configure it, i cant find the main driver in the list. The vendor i think was broadcom, and its description is BCM94306 802:11g NIC. Under the list there are 3 bcm options, but none of them work. My network card is configured, and is a natsemi.

I've noticed when looking through these posts that someone mentioned a full install. Im a true newb and I was wondering how to do a full install of Mandrake 10.0 (without having to check every individual package in the installation menu)

WPC54G

If someone has succeeded in getting WPC54G to work under Mandrake 10 Official, could you please help me. I would really appreciate a step-by-step instruction on that. Currently stuck on same stage as the post before previous.
