Mandrake Firewall Login

I am unable to login to the web page for the mandrake firewall configuration.

I have completed a new setup of v10.1

I can login at the server using both "root" and "admin"

I can access the apache default home page from another computer.

When I try to access the firewall login screen using https and :8443 after the ip address of the server, and using the "admin" user, I just get a message about wrong user/passsword.

I have to run "shorewall clear" before I can get the firewall login screen to come up.

That is a persistent bug with MNF. I would recommend using IPCOP or ClarkConnect instead. They have one guy maintaining that thing, and he isn't a network guru.

Thanks Thoreau

All I want to do is set up a simple caching server, no authentication, no filtering, no monitoring, for our network, don't need the firewall stuff.

Could uou point me in the right direction for this please?
