I'm currently running a dual boot XP/Mandrake 9.0 system. When i first bought the computer i had both running without problems, but now i cant boot Linux. LILO shows up ok and i can select which ever OS I like but when i chose Linux it starts booting but freezes (no activity for 10 minutes) at either "Finding module dependancies" or "Enabling Swap Space".
I hadn't booted into linux for about a month when this first happened so i tried re-installing it about 5 time and still problems.
I have only made 2 hardware changes since last running linux, i attached a HP 930C and i installed a Creative Live 5.1 Sound card, but the installer recognises these without fail.
Thanks in advance for the replies.
I've narrowed the problem down to my MS Explorer Optical Mouse. If it is plugged into the usb port Mandrake will freeze during boot, if it is plugged into the the PS2 port (using the converter) Linux boots no problems.
