Mandrake 9 and USB

This is a problem that no one, so far, has been able to solve or even answer! Mandrake 9.0 doesn't seem to handle USB. I have three USB devices I need access to, all worked on Mandrake 8.2, none work on 9.0:

1. Iomega 250M USB Zip
2. HP 8200 USB CD-RW
3. Epson 1200U Photo USB scanner

Mandrake advertises USB support but the only sucesses I've seen have been mice, keyboards, and the occasional printer. Does anyone have any idea at all how to force 9.0 to see this stuff? The fstab modifications I used in 8.2 don't work here.

Thanks!

Hi there, just go to

1) Mandrake Control Center
2) Service
3) Click start on USB and tick the USB deamon to enable it on "boot" time.

It may be can solve the problem.

Sorry for confusing you

Actually is not on the Mandrake Control Center.
It is on the webmin interface.

Download the latest version 1.001 of webmin at
http://www.webmin.com

install the downloaded file as below
rpm -U webmin-1.000-1.noarch.rpm
(To upgrade the current version)
rpm -i webmin-1.000-1.noarch.rpm
(To fresh install)

login to your PC using any browser(Mozilla/Konquerer) with address
https://localhost:10000/

key in root for username and your root password as password.
Then you should see some option to select.
Go to system > bootup and shutdown.
You should see your "usb" option there.

Hope this can help you.
