Mandrake 9.2 and XP
Ok, I'm complete newb. I am already running XP home and I want to partition about 6 of my 30gigs(is that enough) and try out mandrake 9.2. I Know I will probably have to re-format my drive and re-install windows. Could somebody provide (or link) me with a step by step on how to do this? (after backing up and reformatting if necessary)
Thanks alot! specs: P4 2.2g 30g HD 256mb ddr ram xp home |
you don't need to reformat windows at all. most of the newer distros have a tool where you can change the size of windows partitions to make room for a linux installation or they may be able to do it automatically. just make your computer bootable from the cd drive.
