Mandrake 9.1 Install - Sony Vaio PCG505-FX
I am trying to install Mandrake 9.1 onto a Sony Vaio 505FX Laptop.
I burned all of the ISO files to CD on my main computer. After a couple of hours of troubleshooting, it appears that my PCMCIA CDROM drive on my Vaio no longer works.
So, I tried to do an FTP install. I am using my D-Link DWL-650 wireless card. The installer seemed to recognize the card just fine. However, the laptop only has 64MB of ram, so the installer won't let me do an FTP install.
Now I am trying to set up an NFS install. But I have NO idea how to do this. The only other computer I have is an iBook. Do I copy all the files to my iBook, and then setup NFS from there?
Can I get some pointers about setting up an NFS install?
Thanks! I am really excited about getting this computer on Linux.
