Mandrake 9.0 - SiS 305 conflict
 
i was installing mandrake 9.0 on p4,256 sdram, sis 305 card but
installer only showed sis 300 as closest option ... as a result i think mandrake is almost installed except for X part,,,, can ne1 help... i am able login thru root in text mode ...
How can i configure linux to use my card ?
P.S. i dont know much abt linux and various comands just the bare minimum...

Hmm I assume that you would like to configure X ? Within mandrake the file is located: /usr/X11R6/bin/xf86cfg

Just run it. SU to root and type xf86cfg

A couple of questions will be asked, just follow them ...

thx again...
running that xf86cfg actually unloaded my mouse n some other driver(s) ... i was finally able to correct it using drakxconf .... neways now i do know what xf86cfg does :D ... thanks .. ur reply prompted me to try again.. hope to learn more frm u...
