mandrake 10 wont detect my soundcard

mandrake 10 wont detect my sound card i have an nforce sound card i need help with it please help

motub 08-31-2004 05:22 AM

How do you know this? What have you tried to do to detect the card? What is the error message you get at boot, or when you try to examine the card in HardDrake or when you try to play a sound?

Could you open a terminal, type dmesg and post the contents here (don't worry about how long it is; we don't mind)?

RestInPieces 08-31-2004 07:12 AM

do a
Code:

dmesg
and see the sound related problems.. then paste them here

this is what i get

wow

motub 08-31-2004 05:17 PM

Yep. Gotta agree with ya there, Jengo.

But there is in fact no sound card detected, unless it's one of the many unknown devices that are appearing.

Assuming this is onboard sound, about the best idea I can come up with is a trip to the nVidia site, to get the latest nForce drivers for the mobo, which hopefully would fix many of the problems dmesg seems to be revealing.
