they released this one. is mandrake 10 community the final version of mandrake 10 or is it still beta? cause i am using mandrake 10 rc1 right now and was wondering if i should upgrade.
You should, Mandrake community is basically at the same development point as 9.1,9.2 etc. The difference with Mandrake 10.0 is that thay are going one step further and making an official version later.
If you check out the mandrake site, you should be able to find the press release where they discuss the change in development road map with the release of version #10
It would appear that the "new way" is going to be similar to debian. The community thing seems to be equivalent to debian unstable/testing i.e. it should work fine, but it's possible that it still may have a bug or 2. Then in a couple of months they are due to release version #10 Official (as opposed to community). But this is aimed more at those what want virtually guaranteed stability (as in debian stable - though it seems they will do things a little quicker than debian do - IMO)
