Hi all you kind sirs/mams..
First of all, I've read about 30 posts and I'm slightly confused...
I've got a small problem,
Im running Mandrake 10/Win98 Dual boot and
I just can't connect to the internet...
So, My eth0 connection is live, in ADSL-start I
get...
...TIMED OUT
In ADSL-Status I get something like:
Connection is down (Cant read pppd.XXXXXXXXXXX...)
In connection monitor, when I try to connect the eth0 connection
fails. But I'm sending stuff, just not getting anything...
In 'manage connections' My eth0: RHINE II Via Technologies is set to
start on boot, and it starts just fine...
But my ADSL is also set to start at boot, nope, not the case,
it fails and I get a timeout...
I tripple checked my username and password... it's ok.
Modem(gateway): Actiontec GT701 wg [192.168.0.1]
Ethernet Hub: Lynksys 5-port 10/100
Ethernet Card: VIA Rhine II 10/100 onboard...
ISP Protocol: PPPoA (Through Qwest)
IP Type: Dynamic IP (DHCP)
I've ran ifconfig & ifconfig -a, but I dunno if the output would be helpful...
Um,
I can no longer access my gateway through the browser,
But I could when I first plugged in my connection.
I contacted qwest, but they dont support linux, jerks...
Oh, and I've been using linux for about a week, I love it, no BSOD or crap like that, but the whole internet thing is just not working...
Thank you all soo much for your help (in advance.)
I'm determined to get this working no matter what, even if I must kill...
Cheers,
-Aaron
