mandrake 10


I have a ? that you all may or may not be able to answer.
When in May are we supposed to expect 10 Official..

Mandrake I'm sure will announce this so no one knows til they announce it. I bet Mandrake doesn't even know specifically yet.

Well dang.. i need to change my info.. cause i ran red hat for about a week. couldnt get it to work right.. now everyone is tellin me mandrake is easier.. i am going to be running knoppix for my website. have 2 80 gb 8mb 7200 rpms.. 1 for xp pro.. other for drake.. i just want to learn it and get rid of windows..
sick of spam.. sick of spyware.. sick of slow performance after a while.. sick of windows security flaws daily.. waiting and waiting for patches

If you're feeling a bit adventurous then maybe you can try the community edition. Tell us your hardware or check on the Mandrake website for any known bugs related to your hardware.

here is my specs

Asus A7N8X deluxe. nforce 2 chipset.
ati radeon 9700 pro
AMD XP2100
1 GB ddr ram samsung. pc 2100
WDD 80 GB 8mb 7200 rpm.. soon to be x2.. 2nd 80 gb will be for linux
viewsonic a72f 17" monitor
altec lansing acs 56 speakers.
lite on 52x burner.
lite on 52x cd rom..
soon to have dvd rom.. not burner.. checking out different roms.

Your Asus mobo might give mouse trouble with the 2.6 kernel. But n worrys, I also have an Asus mobo(Asus Cusi-m) and the mouse works fine with the 2.4 kernel.
In order to get it to install the 2.4 kernel, push escape at the start screen of the installation and enter alt1.
Maybe you should check the Mandrake website for a list of knwon probs that might pop up.
