Brings up a konsole instead of login? What do you mean?
Do you get to a screen like this: Code:
Mandrake-Linux 10.1 kernel 2.x.xx Put in your username and password, and enter this command: Code:
[username@localhost ~]$ startx |
Did you choose to have X start at boot. That is an install choice. I'm assuming you didn't have any error messages. Log in with your user name and password. Then type
startx That should start your graphical desktop. Once you've gotten to it. Go to the Mandrake control center and find the boot icon. You can set up to boot into X from there. If you have error messages, post those 'cause then you have a different issue. |
ah, yeah i just figured something out, i just logged in, and typed init 5
