Mandrake 10.1 PCMCIA Nightmare..
Well I spent the last 5 hours trying to get my very common, stock Dell latitude laptop to see my PCMCIA (ocorina_cs/prism2 wifi card) and after failing to install the linux-wifi and pcmcia_cs packages I decided to slick and try again from the beginning.
This time around I noticed the install asks for some magically pcmcia drivers floppy disk that I don't have. Whats more, even if I had this magical floppy, this is a dell business laptop and it only has a CDROM drive. There is no floppy drive!
WiFi is the reason I have a laptop to begin with. What do you guys recommend? Should I load Libranet (the OS running my servers) instead? I have a powerful laptop now and I'd really like to use mandrake but I'm at a total loss as to what to do at this point. Not to mention I feel like a total punk for spending so much time trying to get something so trivial as a wifi connection up and running.
