Mandrake 10.1 likes to disable IRQs...
 

okay, here's the deal: I managed to install Mandrake 10.1 onto my presario 700US laptop. Everything's going great. It manages to install my wireless card. Internet is good. I reboot. big mistake...

Once I log back in, i'm told that IRQ #11 has been disabled. The wireless card not only doesn't work, it's not even getting power. Tried a different wireless card, doesn't even get power. Near as i can tell, the integraded ethernet card is assigned IRQ 11, and so is the PCMCIA.

I figured I could go into bios and disable the ethernet (which doesn't work anyway), but Compaq decided to be nasty. No options to do much of anything in bios except boot device order, password, and com port.

I'm lost here. Anyone got any advice?
