Mandrake 10.0 on IBM t22 Thinkpad

I have installed Mandrake 10.0 with kernel 2.6.3.7, I am having a problem accessing the Lucent winmodem that is on the mini PCI slot.
It is recognised on boot up, when I tried to configure it is there as a Lucent winmodem but when you try to configure it says
""Sorry, we only support 2.4 and above kernels"

which is weird as I am using a 2.6* kernel

Any help with this problem is appreciated

I am no expert.

But, try this page.

http://www.cs.utexas.edu/users/walte...linux-t22.html

it's your laptop w/ Mandrake 9.2.

I would check under the modem section, and see if those drivers work for you.

I hope this helps.
