Man Pages in JSON or xml format
Hello,
I've been googling on and off now for about 2 days! i can't seam to find the linux command line man pages in an JSON or XML format. Could someone point me to them if they know of one, or point me in the direction of actually setting the man pages up in xml or JSON format? Thank you, Der |
Hi,
there is a python script, man2xml.py, in the devhelp package on Debian. HTH, Evo2. |
Thank you,
now I need to get this online and kept up to date!!! Thanks, Der |
I have marked this as solved, but if anyone knows where i could get the man pages online in xml format and kept up to date, that would be great.
If I get it done, I'll post back here. Der |
Not quite sure if you want something like this http://linux.die.net/man/ ?
|
@chrism01,
not exactly, I want to specifically create a location which contains the man pages that can be accessed via a service which is reading in xml or json format. There isn't an app for that! :P |
Well, I'm pretty sure there's a Perl module to cvt from whatever man page format you have to either JSON or xml; your choice.
Try search.cpan.org Text/data munging is one of Perl's strengths :) |
