Man page for kernel

Hi
I am working on device driver. I have the kernel source bt the manpages for kernel functions are not active.

eg. man printk , man kmalloc, etc gives No entry found.

How can i fix this?

I installed one man-page tar ball. But still its not working

I think i need to learn how to search :)

I was giving some other options so didnt jumped to this page..
Indeed i am a Newbie.

Now i have downloaded the full tarball. My kernel is 2.6.9 (some constraints to use older version). It has some bunch of html files. Can you tell me how to manage them? i added a line in /etc/man.congif. But it didnt worked

you need to set MANPATH environment variable. Also it will work if you change the /etc/man.config file. Probabaly it may need a reboot, not sure.
