making files available in /usr/local/bin and /usr/sbin

Hello,

Howe do I make binaries such as fuser and fdisk globally available? They reside in /usr/sbin, which my newly installed FC4 distro doesn't recognize unless I cd to /usr/sbin and type ./fuser etc.

I would also like to be able to make the libraries in /usr/local/lib available...

Thanks if you can help,
Rich

They need to be added to your path and /etc/ld.so.conf respectively. Add this line to ~/.bash_profile to be able to access fdisk etc:
Code:

export PATH="${PATH}:/usr/sbin:/sbin"
and add /usr/local/lib to the end of /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig to add your libraries under /usr/local.
