Making directories for each directory???

So here is a question on my UNIX homework:

Using a for loop, write a program to automatically create a directory under your hw9 directory for each directory under the root directory.

hint: `ls /`

But I have no idea where to start! You don't have to "give" me the answer if you dont want to, but I feel like this question is way over my head. I dont know what Im doing.. Please help

So----what commands have you studied? e.g.:

Do you know the basic command for creating a directory?
Do you know how to list the contents of a directory?
Do you know the basic structure of a "for loop"?

You program will probably go something like this:
in the for loop, read thru the results of a listing of directory A. For each time thru the loop, read the name of a directory (or file) into a variable, then use that variable to create a new directory or file in directory B.
