Making a bootable usb stick

My EEE pc doesnt have a cd drive so I got an .iso of my windows cd on my hard drive. I want to put this on a usb stick so I can boot from it.
I know how to do it in windows but how does this work in linux?

Is there a special version of Linux you want to boot from or you just talking about booting in Linux off of a USB stick in general..the only reason I ask, I downloaded Slackware to a USB and it came with a boot.bat file for DOS. All I had to do what click on the boot.bat, change BIOS to boot from the USB and slackware worked beautifully off of the USB stick. Worse comes to worse you could download the files off of Slackware website site and strip off the boot programs.

Well my eee pc came with windows, then i changed it to linux which was quite easy using unetbootin.
But now I'm tryin to get windows on it again. So now I have to make a bootable usb drive from my windows .iso
But I tried with unetbootin but doesnt seem to work.

If you have your Windows operating disc, just copy files NTLDR, NTDETECT.COM, BOOT.INI and NTOSRNL.EXE to a cd, boot from the cd and it will boot up. Those are the files windows uses to boot up and turn it over to the operating system. I've put these files on a floppy and it works great.(I have an old P4 and I wanted to experiment). The files are located in either the i386 folder on teh cd or the Windows folder on the cd. You can also go to "Microsoft Knowledge Base" for more ideas.

Forgot you didn't have a CD, you can still copy to a USB and set your BIOS to boot from the USB.
