Makefile error : make recursively loops

Hello there, I am trying to install a PvPGn server on a local linux machine (Linux version 2.6.27-7-server (buildd@rothera) (gcc version 4.3.2 (Ubuntu 4.3.2-1ubuntu10))...

the "./configure" command works fine, but when I "make" the compilation it keeps on looping..
I have installed the server before on Redhat 7.2 so its nothing new to me.

Here is a little bit of make history:

Check your system time and times of the files, especially the Makefile. It seems the Makefile has future date. If you're using NTP, disable it for a while.
