make my mandriva 10,2 write japanese as second language

I just installed mandriva 10,2 limited edition on my laptop. It is the first time i try to use linux at all and I'm completely ignorant as to that. Everithing is going fine
BUT
i need to write japanese and my opeoffice.org simply does't want to. The command view-Imput method-... is not available. I already chose during the installation japanese as a second language, infact I can read files written in japanese. I just cannot input in japanese.
It would be nice to hae an answer; be comprehensive and remember I use linux since 2 days (one of them spend here looking for an answer before bothering anybody with my question...)

thank a lot!

The standard install may not have all OOo packages you need. Open the package manager and see if there's OpenOffice-jp or a similar package. You may not have it installed.

If you can't find it, you can always download and install OpenOffice with Japaneese support from OOo site: http://www.openoffice.org/

Install
Scim
Scim-anthy
Scim gtk im module
Scim qt im module

(those are not the exactly package name, those are just what i remember)
