Okay, my computer has been going for a good 5 minutes so far after I issued the make config command. My question is, what are the ouputs it gives before the path to files? I have noticed:
LD
Conmk
CC [M]
LD [M]
If there is a manual, you can just send me off to it.
Oh okay, great. So I am assuming the compilation is going okay then. Does it usually take a while when issuing the make modules command? I'm not installing modules BTW.
Can take quite a while, depending on the kernel conifguration
and the hardware you're running on. A complete new kernel
build on my old p166 server will take around 6 hours, on my
PIV notebook it will be < 10minutes ...
Given the ouput you posted I assume that you're making
a 2.6.x kernel ... in this case you don't need to do anything
but make (and if you have ANY modules enabled also
make modules_config) ...
