make linux aliases permanent


how do i make aliases in linux permanent?

edit your .bashrc file, and add the alias plus where it points to.

Put this in your. bashrc file:

alias ll='ls -la'

(or whatever you're aliasing. Not sure if backticks are correct...

You can restart Bash for the changes to take affect without reboot.
