Hello
I'm trying to install GAIM on SUSE 9.1 personal edition
however after i ./configure it

I tried it in the SU also.. gives me the same thing..

Linux is CaSE SenSItIVe.

Also, ensure you have installed the dev-tools, which will include the make package which needs to be installed to run make.

Cool

From your install CD you'll need to get the make RPM and install it as you won't have make to install the make tarball I'm not a Suse user, but I have read thousands of times that YaST will apparently take care of the dependencies for you, I'd suggest to use that.

Cool

hi there,

just to complement MasterC information, Suse 9.1 PERSONAL does not include any development tool.
you need to install the "make package" and the other things. getting the rpm through YAST is the best way.
only after that you will be able to deal with *****.tar.gz packages.
