Make command won't work after I configure the gtk 2.12.9 package

Hello,
I am rather new to Linux and programming so please bear with me hopeful helper.

I am trying to make a GTK+2 C program in openSUSE 10.3 and I have downloaded all these libraries in order to get started: ATK, GLib, GTK+2, Pango, Cairo, and TIFF.

Now I can run the configure command just fine, then when I get to make command to build the package, I just typed 'make' and it said:
make: ** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.

Even when I tried this in root user, same thing. What am I missing for the make command to not work?

Thanks!

The configure didn't run fine or it would have created a Makefile. Re-run the configure script and look in config.log if the error isn't apparent from the terminal.

I can compile just fine, but...

Hello, I've got the program compiling just fine now but when I run it, I get these weird errors. By the way I'm trying to make a gtk program that will insert and retrieve text with a GtkTextBuffer. This is the errors I'm getting:

Does anyone know what this means? If you need to see the code just let me know.
Thanks!

tell about the fix

You forget to mention what you have done to fix the make target problem between your first posting and the last one.

Problems do not solve themselves in programming. If it was a configuring or programming mistake on your behalf, then your current problems might have similar causes.

First, that's great that you got GTK+ to build, but it IS polite to post your solution. Second, have you executed the program in gdb to see what is causing the seg fault? Maybe you could tell us what program you're trying to build or is that a secret?
