Make command giving me headaches. Help?

I'm new to Fedora-based distros and trying to build a driver in Blag. I have already downloaded and uncompressed the tar.gz, downloaded all updates, headers, and kernel-devel (I think). When I try to run the "make" command, I get the following error:

Quote:
KBUILD_NOPEDANTIC=1 make -C /lib/modules/`uname -r`/build M=`pwd`
make: *** /lib/modules/2.6.35.12-libre.90.fc14.x86_64/build: No such file or directory. Stop.
make: *** [all] Error 2
What exactly am I missing?

Okay. After some trial and error, I managed to find a file I was missing and the make command worked as prescribed. Now I'm being told that I need to use the insmod command to activate the driver, but am getting the following error:

Quote:
insmod: can't read 'w1.ko': No such file or directory
It's entirely possible that I'm using the wrong syntax. At the terminal prompt, I'm typing:

Quote:
insmod w1.ko
This is following the install instructions that came with the driver source. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

please do not "bump" your own posts
you can edit it
all that that did was remove it from the " zero reply " list

also fedora 14 is LONG dead
please install a supported version of fedora
Fedora 17 and 18 are the only two versions that are supported
and 17 will go "end of life" very soon

on fedora just installing "gcc" and "make"
will not get you all the needed programs ( and with fedora 14 being unsupported for a long time ,installing what you need will be a bit difficult )

for installing the build tools see the software groups
Code:
su -
yum grouplist
then from that long list
Code:
su -
yum groupinstall "Development Tools" "Development Librarys"
double check the name of "Development Librarys" , it might be under a slightly different name

also what is this unnamed "driver"
and where did you get it
-- the web address would help
because no one here can read the instructions that you have , if we do not know what it is
