Make-3.82 error:Makefile:282:error: mixed implicit and normal rules


I am using fedora 14. when i try to execute command make xconfig, i got this error:Makefile:282: *** mixed implicit and normal rules. Stop.

details:
[root@localhost uClinux-dist]# make xconfig
Makefile:282: *** mixed implicit and normal rules. Stop.
[root@localhost uClinux-dist]#

How to resolve this error and where to change

Did you try make config or make gconfig? I prefer using gconfig and I think xconfig require kde package to be installed.

Also make sure that you have following packages installed:

ncurses
ncurses-devel
glibc-headers
glibc-devel
cpp
binutils
gcc
tcl
gtk2-devel
qt-devel
glib2-devel
libglade2-devel

If any of the above package is missing install them using yum install packagename and then give it a try.

Thank for your reply, all the package are already installed. but still it gives following errors. i thing some basic library is missing. Details is given bellow

[root@localhost uClinux-dist]# make config
Makefile:282: *** mixed implicit and normal rules. Stop.
[root@localhost uClinux-dist]# make qconfig

[root@localhost uClinux-dist]# make clean

After installing make-3.81 i got following error. How to resolve it.

[root@localhost uClinux-dist]# make xconfig

Hi there,

Are you sure every package that I mentioned in my previous post are installed.

Also did you try make gconfig?

/usr/local/bin/arm-linux-ld.real: crt1.o: No such file: No such file or directory

i am using fedora 14 on i386, when i try to compile c program using following command
arm-linux-gcc -mcpu=arm9 -Wall -o test test.c
it gives following error
/usr/local/bin/arm-linux-ld.real: crt1.o: No such file: No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status

it tried following command also

[root@localhost local]# locate crt1.o
