...Make?


I need to run "make all" and then "make install" for something. Err.... how do I do that? I probably sound pathetic but I'm a total n00b. I know it has something to do with the "Makefile". If I just go into terminal and type that in, it doesn't work. I'm gueesing you have to put in a command first to get to the right directory. Plz help.

to change directories...

cd yourdirectory

Then read the README or INSTALL file in that directory..

cat README or
cat INSTALL

then do what the INSTALL or README tells you to do.
