Mailx with exchange?

Trying to use sendmail but when I start the service it fails on initializing the smtp port.

Figured it was colliding with the exchange server, so I won't even both to try and get sendmail working (even tried a different port, but still wouldn't initialize).

How would I use mailx or some type of command to send mail using the exchange server?

My linux box is 192.168.1.100 and my exchange server is 192.168.1.3

This linux box doesn't need to receive any mail, all it does is send the netadmins the firewall log once a day.

Thanks

how can sendmail on 92.168.1.100 clash with exchange on 192.168.1.3?
a different machine?

must be a bad config
what does the log say?

mailx goes through the MTA (e.g. sendmail postfix) it's not
the same thing.
you need an MTA.

Yeah it was really strange, but sendmail wouldn't initialze SMTP no matter what I tried. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling, tried changing the smtp port, tried turning off the firewall, but something was messed up and it worked fine before I added this machine to the domain with the exchange server on it.
