Hi I am new to Linux but I think this might help. I have suse10 and I used the "jem report" to add mirrors, now my suse upgrades from these and I never need the cd's look for the jem report on line and it tells you how to add these mirrors and disable the cd sourse. its quite easy to do. Please run this by one of the experts first to be sure but I think it will work for you. Adrian

how exactly I do this?
thanks ! Juan |
Ji juan, As I am new and I have Suse not Mandrake I don't know where you would add them in Mandrake but I know that you can. try this link: http://mandrivausers.org/index.php?s...0&#entry135447
Ask one of the techy guys first they will let you know how. good luck, Adrian Also I have Mandrake 10.1 although I have never installed it and it has 4 CD's perhaps you are short of one or its differnt when you download it. |
It is really strange no one here can anwer me and helo me with this simple problem....
Please help ! Juan |
Ok, you need to use Mandriva's packaging tool to add a new removable resource. Basically, open up "Mandriva Control Centre", go to "Software", and then to "Manage Resources" (or something) - it's the one that isn't Install or Remove.
Once in there, it should list your 3 CDs and maybe an Internet "Security Updates" repository. You need to add a new "removable media" repository that points to the "CD4" directory on the third CD. If you can "clone" the CD3 entry and then edit it, then so much the better. Hope this helps. |
