Macintosh CPU

I'm going to compile a new kernel to my macintosh (With FC4) some day and today I ran menuconfig just to see what options there was. I've compiled kernels before but only for x86.
The problem is that I have no idea what processor type to choose. I got a 466Mhz PowerMac G4.
Any PPC users here?

Si Senior! I got a G4 running YDL. Never compiled a kernel before, but here's a link to a site that has lots of info about macs, i think you'll find what you need to know here:

What processor options are there?

Also, anything wrong with your current kernel? (why do you want a new one?)

spooon I'm always compile my own kernels. It's alot more stable that way. More optimization for my hardware and not alot of unnecessary modules. Like sound. The mac is running as a nat router and I have no use of alsa. Or SMP etc.

chemdawg I checked that site and found out what to choose, Thanks!

I heard someone say that PPC Mhz isn't the same as Intel Mhz. Is this true? What "Intel Mhz" would my 466 G4 be? (I know it's not really comparable but is it better or worse.)
