macbook hardware problems
 

hey, this may not be the right place to ask this, but my sister has a macbook and the keyboard does not want to work. i have looked online and i see that the main cause of this problem is in Leopard (correct me if im wrong). So i was wondering if perhaps using linux would solve this problem or if the problem is more hardware related than os related.

Also, how would i go about booting into a linux cd? since u need to enter some keyboard keys at startup and assuming that won't work, is there another way?

It is trivially easy to boot a live Linux CD and test the keyboard using that software.

You're wrong :-) Why on earth would Leopard be the reason why your keyboard fails ?

As suggested : simply boot on a bootable CD. It might be a Linux CD, but I would first try using Leopard's install DVD. You'll easily be able to test your keyboard once booted in.

Tip : Just switch on your mac while keeping your finger on the 'C' key on the keyboard to make it boot on a CD (or DVD)
