LXLE will not update after install

Just installed LXLE 12.04 32 bit on my Thinkpad T42, every time I try to use the update manager or synaptic package manager I get this error and it says I have to fix it,
E:Method has died unexpectedly!, E:Sub-process returned an error code (100), E:Method /usr/lib/apt/methods/ did not start correctly

anyone know what this is. I have no clue and cannot install anything.
I have installed it a couple of months ago and had no problems on another T42.

Post your /etc/apt/sources.list.

rokytnji 08-21-2014 12:06 AM

In case you need to know how to answer EDDY1 question.

Open up a terminal and copy and paste and then hit enter and post back here what it spits out.

Code:

cat /etc/apt/sources.list
First hit I received on google for your error message.

But answer EDDY1 question first before trying out anything if I was you.
Just to be on the safe side.

Great glad you got it working.

rokytnji 08-23-2014 11:50 AM

I also am glad it worked out for you. I see LXLE is using Precise.
If they come out with a Trusty version. It might benefit you to do a fresh install based on that version.

And whaddya know. They did come out with a Trusty version.

If a older version of 12.04 like I will show in the link below. Well, you should get the idea.

Shucks, I missed this part

On 14th June, 2014, LXLE released it's 64-bit spin, LXLE 14.04. There is no 32-bit spin yet.
You might have to wait a bit till a 32 bit version is released maybe.
Just a idea you may not have considered. I like their game over edition myself. It is based on Debian Testing instead of Ubuntu. Runs on 32 bit systems also.

Just a idea for your next project install is all.

I will try that out. I have several computers, think I'll try out the Sparky Linux 1st. I'll post about it later.
Thanks
